Amazon is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Manager with a strong delivery record and proven project management experience to own strategic, tactical, cross-functional and technology projects and programs across multiple verticals. This role requires scoping and creating project plans, developing processes, coordinating and driving execution, and communicating to senior management on status, risks and process/product changes. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive presentation skills are essential. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive project management experience, combined with deep analytical capabilities and a keen sense of innovation, to lead complex projects from conception to completion.

We are seeking a Senior Supply Chain Manager to effectively manage the creation and enhancement of our supply chain and transportation networks. In this role, you will scope large projects, track project timelines, and develop mechanisms for communicating status, risk, and business challenges. The ideal candidate must be adept at cross-team coordination, project management, and analyze data, with a proven history of delivering results.

Key job responsibilities

  • Supply chain, transportation, or logistic network management solution experience

  • Set clear objectives for programs, leveraging data analytics to drive improvements and achieve metrics.

  • Foster collaboration with internal and external partners to optimize resource allocation and project success.
  • Evaluate and prioritize projects in conjunction with customer needs and technical team inputs.
  • Bridge gaps in team dynamics, processes, and systems, preventing common project pitfalls.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, preventing them from escalating into major issues.
  • Regularly communicate with senior managers, business leaders, and other stakeholders to support key business initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee KPI reporting for a program portfolio, ensuring clear visibility of milestones and project performance.
  • Manage and communicate project budgets effectively.

A day in the life

An individual in this role will work across a broad spectrum of partner teams. This will include collaboration with technical individuals like Data Scientists and Product Managers to business stakeholders to develop strategies to present to Senior Leadership.

About The Team

Amazon's vision for the future is one where Fulfillment Centers operate as a local store with up to 60% of flows for each DS will come from a single upstream FC. We envision Amazon’s Outbound Supply chain to be the benchmark for Performance, Speed and Cost, and do not believe in prioritizing one service over the other. The ideal network design is one that lowers cost-to-serve and, in the process, does so with a positive impact on delivery speed and reliability.

The Network Optimization through Regional Design (NORD) Team's mission is to create the roadmap to enable this vision and drive cross-functional initiatives to make rapid progress towards it. The team will work across the breadth of the Supply Chain to identify opportunities to improve placement, make better fulfillment decisions and guide the development of the right infrastructure and network design to bring it all together.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • 5+ years of supply chain experience
  • 3+ years of owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
  • Knowledge of SQL at an intermediate level, including: compile queries, subqueries, aggregation/grouping, data modification, etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
