Responsible for receiving, issuing and storage of food and non-food supplies. Determines weekly quantities of milk, bread, ice cream and snack foods based on production needs and menu. Takes physical inventory every week and uses inventory to create orders from vendors. Inputs inventory data into Cbord and generates requirement worksheets for all suppliers. Maintains assigned records, reports and data that support the purchasing/production process. Clean and sanitize facility, fixtures, and equipment following established procedures and posted schedules. Performs expert level warehouse responsibilities which include purchasing, receiving, verifying, storing, and distributing inventory; maintenance of records concerning inventory items and all items passing through the warehouse, storage, transfer, and disposal of surplus property.

KSAs Required For The Position

  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry-out written and verbal instructions.
  • Capacity to learn and perform cleaning and sanitation procedures in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, frequently lift moderate (10-40 lbs.) loads, occasionally lift heavy (40-60 lbs.) loads, bend, stoop and carry objects.
  • Ability to push heavy (up to 500 lbs.) carts full of food/supplies.
  • Capability to work in a hot, humid environment.
  • Aptitude to work as a contributing team member and customer service focused.
  • Ability to work in a secure and locked environment with individuals who are experiencing acute symptoms of mental illness and/or additional forensic/legal involvement.
  • Knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement policies and guidelines.
  • Organizational and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of Inventory Management
  • Skilled in warehouse equipment/heavy machinery

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Driver's License required.

Additional Considerations

  • Prefer prior experience as a storekeeper, route delivery person, or prior experience in an

institutional food service facility as a general kitchen worker.
