THE ROLE

Firewalk Studios is looking for a Senior level First Person Gameplay Animator who desires the creative freedoms of working on a new and original IP at a developer-friendly studio, while helping to tackle the challenges that come with it. This role requires someone who is passionate about bringing characters to life in first person with animations bursting with personality that blend organic movement and responsiveness.

Using skills of both your craft and collaboration you will join a character-focused Multi-Player FPS project, working closely with our Gameplay Animation Director and a multidisciplinary group of developers to help deliver best in class gameplay animation while helping to innovate what's possible in this space.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Collaborate with Designers, Concept Artists, Modelers, Animators, and Tech Artists to create memorable living and breathing characters that belong together in a shared universe of physicality and expression.
• Participate in our teamwide playtests to evaluate how your assets are playing and to give and receive notes on the experience.
• Work with Production to help maintain your schedule and ensure tasks are delivered on time and at quality.
• Receive feedback from the Gameplay Animation Lead and the Gameplay Animation Director to align your work with the game's vision and quality bar.
• Create high-quality character animations from block-out to polished in-engine animations.
• Provide feedback on tools, tech and workflow.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Relevant professional experience as a Gameplay Animator and have shipped at least 3 titles, 1 of which was a first-person shooter game.
• Solid hand-key animation skills.
• Strong command of weight, body mechanics, energy transfers and ballistic power.
• Able to communicate innovative ideas and systems to both creative and technically minded people.
• Proficient in Maya.

NICE TO HAVE
• Experience shipping with Unreal Engine
• Experience in AAA game development
• Technical Skills: Scripting
• Traditional Art Skills: Drawing, Painting, Sculpting, etc.
