Your Specific Responsibilities

Overdose Prevention Initiatives

Leads all Department of Health in Volusia County overdose prevention initiatives. Facilitates the OD2A Volusia Advisory and Data Committees. Utilizes harm reduction strategies and evidence-based practices in planning outreach and OD2A intervention strategies. Participates in and leads public forums, meetings, and other venues to ensure program information is shared within the agency, with community partners, and with the public. Promotes and provides education concerning preconception health, social determinants of health, and health equity.

Develops and monitors process and outcome measures to assess the success and impact of OD2A programming in conjunction with the state office.

Community Engagement

Actively participates in community meetings related to opioid misuse and related community health programs. Implements and documents OD2A program deliverables and participates on related conference calls. Assists DOH-Volusia with the coordination and facilitation of the Volusia County Community Health Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan process.

Staff and Community Training

Provides trainings to staff and the community related to harm reduction strategies, overdose prevention, culturally competent care and interventions and other topics as directed.

Other Related Duties as Assigned

Attends and participates in staff development and regularly scheduled department staff meetings. Prepares and submits weekly EARs reports, bi-weekly timesheets, and time summaries according to established local agency procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned.
